The Lakefield Literary Festival celebrates its rich literary heritage each July on the weekend closest to Margaret Laurence’s birthday, and showcases many current Canadian authors. The festival was created to celebrate the work of Catharine Parr Traill, Susanna Moodie and Margaret Laurence, among others, all of whom lived and wrote in Lakefield.
The Lakefield Literary Festival would not be possible without the
support of our many sponsors and friends. Read more about them here. We thank
them most sincerely for their generosity.
Due to overwelming response from our loyal supporters, tickets
for Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon are sold
out. However, tickets are still
available for
Saturday afternoon and of course we invite you to join us
at the Children's Tent and Young Adult events on Saturday
morning. The Children's tent is free of charge. Chldren and
teens are admitted free to the YA event. There is a small charge
on site for adults.
Once again, tickets for the Lakefield Literary Festival are selling
quickly. If you haven't submitted your order form yet, please
note that tickets for the Saturday Evening Reading only are already
fully subscribed. If you would like to attend the Saturday
Evening Reading, we suggest purchasing a combined ticket for the
Festival Dinner and the Reading. These tickets are still
available.
Click here to download a copy of the 2010 ticket order form. Please note that the process for ordering festival tickets has changed this year. All orders must be submitted by mail and tickets will be non-refundable. Requests for tickets will be processed the order that they are received. You will receive your tickets in the mail. Once again, we have a fabulous line-up of authors and we expect tickets will sell out quickly. Please place your order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
